Welcome to the official website for the 8th edition of the World University Rugby Sevens Championships which will be hosted in the coastal town Swakopmund, Namibia.
The games will be hosted by the Tertiary Institutes Sports Association of Namibia on behalf of International University Sports Federation (FISU) an association which develops and promotes sport at all Tertiary Institutions in Namibia focusing on creating opportunities for all students to acquire the necessary sporting skills to compete at all levels. These games will be the first ever games to be held in Africa.
These games will also be the first World Universities Rugby Sevens Championships being hosted after Rugby’s re addition to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The games will take place from the 12TH - 14th of July in 2018. With over 300 athletes expected to decend into Namibia and showcase their rugby sevens capabilities across 16 male and 12 female teams , So much excitement is already building up towards having to visit the second most visited tourist town in Sub Saharan Africa which also happens to be the only place in the world where the Desert Meets The Ocean.
